i have some sucky news (sucky just for me, really) and some awesome news that cancels out the sucky news. so the morley wah pedal that you gave me doesn't go into bypass mode anymore (so it's always on). i tried to check it out myself to see if it's something simple i could fix. but nope! so i call morley tech support and they told me to send it in and they'd fix it and even update some of the mechanical parts for me (like the flimsy spring mechanism), for FREE! and somewhere in the conversation they told me that the unit that i have is the first original version of the switchless wahs (made sometime between '91 and '92)! how cool is that?! were you the original owner or did someone give it to you?
